    The CHC30708 Certificate III in Children’s Services program consists of a set number of important core units and a flexible selection of elective units. The electives are chosen via consultation with advice from our industry-expert trainers to student and the employer to tailor a specific program that suits the needs of the individual and the child care business.

    Entry requirements for CHC30708 Certificate III in Children’s Services

    Completion of Year 10 at an Australian school or equivalent school level or relevant industry experience.

    All students must satisfy Police and Working with Children checks.

    Training and assessment methods for campus courses

    The CHC30708 Certificate III in Children’s Services training involves a combination of classroom learning, resource development, practical sessions, research and project work plus work placement in a children’s services environment is a vital component of MEGT Institute child care courses. Students are required to attend scheduled structured training for a minimum 20 hours per week which includes compulsory work placement.

    Assessment methods are based upon combination of class activities, role plays, written assessments, skills demonstration, group work, projects and work placement will be used for the assessment of competency.

    Work placement

    For students who are studying on campus we arrange for our CHC30708 Certificate III in Children’s Services students to undertake work placement with quality child care providers. This totals 144 hours, made up of one 8-hour day a week for 13 weeks of supervised work (practicum) plus a block practicum of a 5-day week.

    International students

    International students must be at least 18 years of age and need to demonstrate English language proficiency at IELTS 5.5 or equivalent.
